Hello….

I’m Jeannie, the creative mom who started this blog, Zeal Crafty. I have always enjoyed creative things. In high school, I was the editor of the yearbook that was ranked in the top 100 in the US that year. A few years later, I was the Advertising and Publicity Manager of a casino. I worked in advertising for about 10 years until I relocated back home to Texas in 2008.

I have been a single mom for about 10 years now. I put everything into my job so that I could afford to stay in the same house when my husband left. I did this because I wanted my son to have the stability that I didn’t have going up. And the efforts paid off. I was able to make good money to support my son and live comfortable while working in the Oil & Gas Industry. Even though I was financially okay, I felt very unfulfilled. I’m a very creative person and my current job (of 11 years) hasn’t really allow for much of that. A couple of years back, I started making crafts on the side because they helped me with stress relieve and brought me joy!

It didn’t take long for me to realized what I had been missing in my life. The last 10 years have been very routine and lacking in my passion – CREATIVITY!

About Zeal Crafty…

Over time, I started to realize that I wanted to put more time into what I enjoy …. so Zeal Crafty was born. I’m not the best writer in the world but I did want to share my creative passion with others.

I want to share the things that I create in hopes it will inspire you and others. I hope to help you make things you enjoy and cherish! As time moves forward, this site may go through many revisions as we grow together….. Nothing is set in stone, just as creativity has no boundaries!

I intend for this site to be a friendly and inspiring place for all (content is directed toward adults – not children). Everyone’s creativity has meaning to them. We may not all be at the same level with every medium or craft discussed but that’s what makes it exciting. We can learn together!
